Ok, i know it's been forever..... but i have a baby as an excuse now...

Well, i know im probably not going to finish this post right at this moment, but as i have a moment, ill try to get a little down before the little wolf is demanding the milk machine again : ) We're in week five now, amazing where the time goes.... Isabel is still fantastic, her schedule changing daily, but pretty consistently waking twice a night...... well, there went that moment. That was two days ago already. sheesh...

Ok, so she just went down for a nap but this is still going to be short because i need one too : ) She's doing fantastic, and so are we! Last week at her 4 week mark we went to the midwives and got her checked. Everything is perfect, and she gained 1.5 lb in a little under 2 weeks!!! She's fat! So last thesday she was 10 lb 13 oz, so who knows what she's at now... The midwife said she should be the poster child for breastfeeding : )

We had an interesting chat about colic. Did you know that nobody exactly knows what colic is or why it happens?? Interesting hey. They, the midwives, think it's something to do with diet and milk, but they also have a theory about stressed out parents and colicy babies. I don't know what i think, but i know isabel doesn't have it so that's what i care most about : ) I cant imagine a screaming baby. It would drive you crazy. You want to help them, to fix it, but you dont know what they want and then you wear yourself out, and in the end just are frustrated at not being able to do anything. sigh... poor babies... poor parents..

I recieved a fantastic wonderful book from Candice as part of a shower gift, and i think everyone should have it. Candice gave it to me and said it made her cry, and i thought, "yeah, but i don't really cry much.." So i finally got around to reading it yesterday evening... and i cried too!! Ah, what a sweet little book. It's called Someday by Alison McGhee & Peter H. Reynolds and everyone with a daughter should have this book : ) Buy it! It's a Lisa's Pick : )

Hmm, what else..... Well, im pretty tired... : ) Hmm, but that's fairly normal. .. Oh, Erik's back at work now. Boooo... Ah well, i knew it was coming. It was so great having him home with us, and im so grateful it worked out, i know it isnt possable for everyone. But he's back now, and even though i was dreading it, its not so bad : ) Isabel and i rock out during the night, we get up just in time for dad to change a poopy diaper : ) and then he's off to work. We spend the day together, do some stuff (haircut and a visit to grandma + grandpa, and Mrs. Falk yesterday), nap, and then erik's home from work and we spend the evening together : )

Anyway, a few quotes and funny stories from erik...

-When im going to start breastfeeding her, erik says "Ok, Isabel first, but im next!"

-Nicknames we use on her: Milk tongue lady, poopy pants, stinkerbell, sleepybell, vomitress, milk face, poop face... i know, not so romantic some of them.. : )

-Last week, erik was burping her on our couch in the evening before bed, and isabel threw up a bit of milk, so he called and told me to get him a cleanup rag. I assessed the amount and it didn't look serious so i went and got a rag, wet it down, and on my way back, all of a sudden... You threw up EVERYWHERE!!! It was hilarious to watch. I was shocked into inactivity by the sheer volume. Erik was freaking out, shouting something like, "don't just stand there, help me! Lisa!!" hahahaha.. Half the couch cushion was soaked, and it had all pooled along Erik's leg. We got her cleaned up somewhat, then i strippederik and they both went into the bath to clean up : ) There are pictures down below..

Hey, another interesting fact about pregnancy. Did you know your hair can turn darker after the babies born? Well, me neither until erik and nanny pointed out i had brown hair, not dirty blond like i used to. I was shocked!!! I didn't believe them and checked in the mirrior, and BAM! Brown hair!!!!!!! Anyway, so im now a liar on my drivers lisence. : )

ok, getting too tired here, got to go. Tata, enjoy the pictures, and sorry i don't write more, and cant write more now : )

love tired lisa and the sleepybell

Erik and our little fattie having a staring contest. Isabel always wins... infants don't blink much... Oh, erik informs me we don't have a baby, we have a "little girl" now : )

Well that is one "happy" baby girl look at that tummy!
Isn't MommyHood wonderful?
I think between you and Kaili you should invest in a Nursing Pad Company...she went through LOTS also. When I had our three I used cloth ones, they weren't that comfortable though...keep enjoying everyday...as time flies way too quick!
Glad you liked the goodies Kaili and I sent you thanks for the wonderful card/picture.
Take care :)

So happy to see a new post (I mean 2!).

Erik looks ticked in the barf picture. haha! Oh lovely barf, we had barf EVERYWHERE and our child was colickly. SO not fun at times. Good thing babies are made SO freakin' cute! Haha!

And I love the picture of the breastpads everywhere. I had SO MUCH milk, that I went through SO many breastpads it was crazy. But in the night I would throw them to the foot end of the bed and Robin would be so upset stepping on one in the night if he got up to go pee. Poor guy! Haha! It didn't stop me though! Hahaha!
